Teething Tips

Yep folks, it’s that time…Dribble (and lots of it), rosy red cheeks, and plenty of chewing on things. Nope, I haven’t bought a puppy, Esmé is most definitely teething.

Luckily for me, I was sent this handy booklet filled with tips, lullabies & stories from Ashton & Parsons Infants’ Powders.

photomagic(1)(118) 1Soothing a teething baby can be difficult. I mean, it’s painful enough when we get tooth ache isn’t it? Imagine having the pain of a tooth emerging from your gums for the first time!

Some of the top tips included in the booklet are:

  • Have teething toys or rings (although Esmé loves gnawing on pieces of cold cucumber!)
  • Playtime & Cuddles (as a distraction technique)
  • Massaging Gums
  • Cool Drinks
  • Ensuring you keep your baby’s chin dry so it doesn’t get sore from all that dribble
  • Singing

I also heartily recommend using Ashton & Parsons powders. I used them with Phoebe and they worked like magic (even if it did look like I was pouring something dubious into my baby’s mouth!). They are a little on the expensive side, but they DO work! That far outweighs the cost to me.
